Control4 Touch Screens support in the Poconos

Control4 touch screens — in-wall panels by the door and tabletop screens in the kitchen — are among the first parts of an older system to fail or fall behind. A frozen or blank screen is often a network or power problem rather than a dead screen, and the oldest generations stop working as the rest of the system is updated. Replacing a screen is straightforward, but it has to match what the controller can run.

How to tell

You probably have one if…

  • A wall-mounted or tabletop screen with the Control4 interface, usually at an entry or in the kitchen.
  • The model number is on the back of the screen or on the wall mount behind it.

What we see

What goes wrong.

  • A screen that is frozen, blank, or stuck on a loading screen.
  • A tabletop screen that keeps losing its Wi-Fi connection.
  • An older screen that stopped working after the controller was updated.

Your options

What we would do about it.

Diagnose before replacing

Power, network, and configuration cause most screen problems. We check those first.

Replace the screen

A current screen in the same location, matched to what your controller supports.

Replace it with something simpler

In some rooms an engraved keypad or a phone app does the job better than a screen. We will say so if that is the case.

Cost. A system assessment and takeover starts at $450. Most rescues land between $1,500 and $6,000; a full controller replacement with reprogramming runs higher. More on Control4

Questions

Control4 Touch Screens questions

Something not covered here? Call (267) 719-3598 and ask.

My Control4 touch screen is black. Is it dead?

Not necessarily. In-wall screens depend on power and the network, and tabletop screens on Wi-Fi. Those are worth ruling out before buying a new screen.

Can I replace an old screen without upgrading the whole system?

Often yes, as long as the replacement is compatible with your controller's OS. Where it is not, we explain the options before you buy anything.
