Security Cameras

Wired cameras with local recording that actually see at night, cover the driveway and dock, and do not need a subscription.

Battery doorbell cameras are fine for a package on a porch. They are not a security system for a house on five acres with a long driveway. We install wired cameras on a local recorder — no monthly fee, real night vision, and footage that is still there in a month when you need it.

You notice it when

  • You can see whether the plow came through from 200 miles away.
  • The footage is still there a month later when you actually need it.
  • Alerts fire for people, not for every branch moving in the wind.

Scope

What a security cameras project includes.

Every proposal is written for the specific house. This is the shape of it.

  • Wired PoE cameras from Ubiquiti, Luma, or Hikvision-class hardware
  • Local NVR recording with 30+ days of retention, no subscription required
  • Driveway, entry, dock, and outbuilding coverage planned on a site walk
  • True night vision and license-plate capture at the driveway
  • Motion and person alerts that are tuned so they are not constantly wrong
  • Remote viewing from your phone and inside Control4 where present

Investment

Projects start at $2,200

A four-camera wired system with a recorder typically runs $2,800 to $6,500 installed. Long conduit runs to outbuildings add to that.

Questions

Security Cameras questions

Something not covered here? Call (267) 719-3598 and ask.

Are wired cameras really better than Ring or Nest?

For a property, yes. Wired cameras have no batteries to die in the cold, far better low-light sensors, and they record locally so the footage is not gated behind a subscription or a cloud outage.

Do I need a monthly subscription?

No. Recording happens on an NVR in your house. We set up remote viewing without a cloud plan, though we can add off-site backup if you want a second copy.

Will they work if the internet goes down?

They keep recording locally through an outage. You lose remote viewing until the connection returns; you do not lose the footage.

Next step

Start with a walkthrough.

We come out, look at the house, and tell you what is worth doing and what is not. No pressure, no package deals, and a written scope before anyone spends anything.
