Systems
Networking & Wi-Fi
Business-grade Wi-Fi that covers the whole property, the garage, and the dock — and stays up when you are 200 miles away.
Every other system in this list rides on the network, which is why we will not install any of them on top of the router the cable company left in a basement corner. Real access points, a real switch, and a firewall you can reach remotely are the difference between a smart home and a support ticket.
You notice it when
- Full bars in the boathouse, the garage, and at the end of the dock.
- A dozen guests stream at once on Saturday night without buffering.
- You get a text that the house dropped offline before the pipes have a chance to notice.
Scope
What a networking & wi-fi project includes.
Every proposal is written for the specific house. This is the shape of it.
- UniFi or Araknis access points placed from a real coverage plan
- Wired backhaul to every AP — never a mesh repeater if we can pull a wire
- Managed switch and rack, cleanly terminated and labeled
- Separate guest and IoT networks so a renter never touches your devices
- Cellular or Starlink failover for houses on unreliable service
- Remote monitoring so we see an outage before you do
Investment
Projects start at $1,800
A typical whole-property network with three or four access points runs $2,500 to $7,500. Detached buildings and fiber runs add to that.
Can you get Wi-Fi to the dock or the garage?
Yes. Usually with direct-burial Cat6 or a fiber run to an outdoor-rated access point. Point-to-point wireless is the fallback when trenching is not realistic.
What internet service is available up here?
It varies street by street. Fiber where it has been built out, cable in the developments, fixed wireless and Starlink where neither reaches. We will tell you what is actually available at your address before you commit to systems that depend on it.
Do I need a separate network for renters?
You should have one. A guest network isolates renters from your locks, cameras, thermostats, and any computer in the house, and it lets you throttle or shut it off independently.
