Motorized Shades in Pocono Pines

West-facing lake glass is the classic Pocono problem: gorgeous at 7 PM in June, unwatchable at 4 PM in January. Shades on an astronomic timeclock handle the sun angle as it shifts through the year without anyone adjusting a thing.

Lakefront and club communities

This is the archetype where shades matter most. Lake-facing glass is the reason the house exists and the source of every glare, heat, and privacy problem in it — and in a two-story great room those windows are physically unreachable. Shades on an astronomic timeclock handle the changing sun angle through the year, drop before the afternoon glare hits the TV, and stop the glass from becoming a mirror after dark.

The housing here

The stock here runs from original 1970s A-frames to new construction on the lakefront, and the two need very different approaches. An A-frame with knee walls and no attic access is a wiring puzzle; a 2020 build usually has conduit and a structured panel already waiting.

Connectivity

Service is comparatively good inside the club communities and gets thin fast once you are off the main roads. We check what is actually available at your address before specifying anything that depends on it.

Why owners here buy it

Most homes here are used weekends and holidays, so the systems that matter are the ones that work while nobody is watching: lighting that runs on a schedule, locks that let the cleaner in, and monitoring that calls you before a pipe does.

Questions

Shades questions from Pocono Pines homeowners

Something not covered here? Call (267) 719-3598 and ask.

Do you install motorized shades in Pocono Pines?

Yes. Pocono Pines is part of our regular service area and we work throughout Monroe County, including Lake Naomi Club & Timber Trails, Pinecrest Lake, Locust Lake. We are based in Pocono Pines, so this is work we do ourselves rather than subcontract.

Battery or hardwired?

Battery for retrofits — Lutron's batteries run three to five years and the install is non-destructive. Hardwired for new construction and for very large shades, where the motor draw makes batteries impractical.

How loud are they?

Lutron's are the quietest we have installed. In a room with any background sound you generally hear the fabric moving before you hear the motor.
