Motorized Shades in Mount Pocono
West-facing lake glass is the classic Pocono problem: gorgeous at 7 PM in June, unwatchable at 4 PM in January. Shades on an astronomic timeclock handle the sun angle as it shifts through the year without anyone adjusting a thing.
Year-round residential
In a house lived in daily, shades become part of the routine — down at dusk, up in the morning, bedrooms dark at bedtime. Tie them to lighting scenes and they stop being a separate system you think about. This is also where hardwiring is worth considering, since new construction and renovation both make it easy.
Local conditions
What this looks like in Mount Pocono.
The housing here
A broad mix of borough homes, development ranches, and newer construction on the outskirts. Fewer of the extreme cathedral-ceiling and lakefront-glass challenges, and more conventional retrofits.
Connectivity
Among the better-served areas in the region, with cable widely available and fiber in parts of the borough. That opens up options that are not practical further out.
Why owners here buy it
Year-round residents buy for daily quality of life rather than remote protection, so lighting control, whole-home audio, and networking lead — with theater rooms close behind.

Do you install motorized shades in Mount Pocono?
Yes. Mount Pocono is part of our regular service area and we work throughout Monroe County, including Mount Pocono Borough, Pocono Farms, Summit Pointe. We are based in Pocono Pines, so this is work we do ourselves rather than subcontract.
Battery or hardwired?
Battery for retrofits — Lutron's batteries run three to five years and the install is non-destructive. Hardwired for new construction and for very large shades, where the motor draw makes batteries impractical.
How loud are they?
Lutron's are the quietest we have installed. In a room with any background sound you generally hear the fabric moving before you hear the motor.
